AUTONOMOUS STATION. THE 2M² LIVING CHALLENGE

AUTONOMOUS STATION. THE 2M² LIVING CHALLENGE

IGOR 4X4 EXPEDITION

Extreme density. The brief was radical: transform a compact Lada Niva 4x4 into a fully autonomous living station for two people.

Inspired by Japanese micro-living and expedition sailboats, we designed a self-contained module that slides into the trunk. It condenses sleeping, cooking, and storage functions into a footprint of just two square meters, capable of facing hostile climates.

SWISS ARMY KNIFE DESIGN

To overcome the lack of interior volume, we exploded the program outwards. The kitchen and technical storage are housed in heavy-duty drawer systems that deploy externally. The vehicle becomes a base camp: you sleep inside, but you live with the landscape.

CNC-ENGINEERED LIGHTNESS

Every gram counts. We used CNC-milled birch plywood with a custom perforation pattern to reduce weight without compromising structural integrity. The entire living unit is removable: designed as a "box within a box," it can be extracted in minutes to return the vehicle to its utility function.
