OPÉRA – LIGHT SCULPTURE
A tribute to Lyon’s skyline. Commissioned for the legendary Fête des Lumières (Festival of Lights), this trophy was designed to reward the best light installations.
We chose to reinterpret the iconic barrel vault of the Opéra National de Lyon (Jean Nouvel). The goal: turn a monumental architectural dome into a handheld luminous object without losing its structural rhythm.

ARCHITECTURAL ABSTRACTION
We deconstructed the opera's roof into a series of rhythmic slices. This "sectional" approach allows us to recreate the volume using flat sheets of material. The resulting geometry plays with transparency and void, creating a structure that changes appearance depending on the viewing angle.
MATERIALIZING LIGHT
Light is the raw material. Crafted from semi-opaque polycarbonate, the trophy acts as a diffuser for the internal LED core. The parts were CNC-milled for precise interlocking assembly, eliminating the need for visible glue or screws. The object doesn't just reflect light; it embodies it.
